Parent Roundtables

Part of our mission here at Central is becoming like Jesus in our homes. Sometimes, that can feel easier said than done! Even though it can feel like a tough task, I think we can all agree that we want to be the best parents possible. Parent Roundtables were created to help us all pursue just that! These Roundtables offer an opportunity to gather with other middle school parents and our middle school Pastor Morgan to walk through an interactive guide that simplifies what you need to know about the grade specific phase your child is in so you can make the most of it! This is the opportunity to ask those questions you’ve been wondering about like “when should I give my kid a phone?” and “I don’t know when I should have the sex talk with my kid. When did you?” You won’t want to miss these!
Upon registering for Parent Roundtables, you will receive a book specific to the grade your student is entering in the fall. For example, if you have a student entering 8th grade in the fall, then you will receive a guide called “Parenting Your Eighth Grader.” You only get 52 weeks with your child in their current phase! These guides talk about what your student needs most during their current phase, and the pivotal conversations you need to have with them this year to maximize your influence. These roundtables will occur August 14th, 21st and 28th from 6-8pm at Central and snacks will be provided! Each week we will focus on a different topic and ways to approach that topic with your student in a way that connects with them based off their stage in development. Week one we will talk technology, week two we will talk about health and sex and week three we will focus on faith. This is not a class in which someone will talk at you for two hours. These are roundtables in which a topic from your guides will be introduced and you will have an open, guided discussion amongst other parents with students in the same phase as yours.
